TALK: THE HISTORY OF CHAPEL ALLERTON
On 7th October, we were scheduled to meet at Forest Hill to learn all about Rachael Unsworth's latest project: The History of Chapel Allerton, Past, Present and Future. Regrettably, we have had to cancel this talk. Instead, Rachael will meet with us at an appropriate date next year; she will then bring us up-to-date with her work.
She is well known to many of us as urban geographer, great communicator and leader of Leeds City Walking Tours, as well as speaker at Civic Trust events. She has recently been working with local historian Steven Burt on an illustrated history of Chapel Allerton, which once covered an extensive area from Meanwood in the west to Gledhow in the east, up to Moortown and down to the boundary of Potternewton. Rachael's extensive expertise extends forward to 20th- and 21st-century developments, and, as always, she will be looking to the future.
